- BCE 101 Freshman Compass: UA (2 Credit Hours) - course for first-year UA students introduces the nature of higher education and to the function, resources, and activities of The University of Alabama
- BEP 110 Introduction to Learning Strategies and Skills (3 Credit Hours) - provides students with a theoretical and practical understanding of the importance and use of specific learning strategies
- Workshops - free workshops to advance learning strategies for academically gifted students and to enhance learning strategies for students who need to strengthen academic performance

TRiO Program - aims to increase the retention and graduation rates of first-generation college students, students with limited family income, and disabled students.

- Free College Credit Courses: Academic Success, College Writing, Professional Development, MATH 100, and Financial Health and Wellness
- Graduate School Preparation including a Free KAPLAN Review Course (limited to the first 20 program participants to sign-up)
- Private SSS-only Computer Lab in Osband Hall
